Livestock Guardian Dogs in the news
Cory Peavey is a fifth generation Flat Top Sheep rancher who is raising the ranch’s first generation of livestock guardian dogs to grow up with veterinary care and accustomed to human interaction.
From protecting farm animals to now protecting endangered wildlife, LGD are evolving and helping to save endangered speicies! One of the first, and best-known projects is the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia.

(1)(f)(iii) for classification of Livestock Guardian Dogs as livestock.
Note that if a livestock guardian dog breed is raised as a family pet, the dog is protected by the animal cruelty law. However, if the dog is raised as a working dog for an agricultural operation, it is exempt and classified as livestock.
